Is it normal for dads to want their daughters to date someone who looks like them?

Clarification: When I meant someone who looks like them, I meant someone who is of the same race. As a black female, I'm not really "head-over-heels" for the males of my race nor are they into me (they rather go for my lighter counterparts, which is fine). Now, I'm not saying that all black men dislike darkskinned females, but I would say that a good handful of them do. Also, I'm not really interested in some of the areas that pertain to black culture e.g. rap, hip-hop, religion, etc. so it would be difficult for me to find a love interest who is of my race who may like the things I enjoy e.g. rock, punk, art, literature, atheism, skateboarding, etc. Would love to hear your thoughts :^)

    I find most black guys who prefer white girls prefer us cause black womem tend to have this anger about them. Now for a man to wabt his daughter to date within his own race is fairly common. You got to remember they grew up in a much more racist world then we have.

    Like it or not theirs certsin underlying prejudices probably minor but existant.

    Interesting question, maybe some do. I think some people may care about that a little bit even if they don't want to care, cos it is kinda racist to care what race your daughter goes out with. But don't worry about it, once parents find out that their kids are dating nice trustworthy people they're happy with that.

    Ima say from life experience that if youre a punk rocker skateboarding atheist your probably gonna have more luck dating white dudes or at least not having a race preference
