Is it normal for an ex not to tell his new girlfriend who you are?

I recently started seeing my ex again (we have the same friends) after 2 years of not talking to him, once a week if i don't have to work late and hang out with a group of friends. Anyway, he's got a new girlfriend which was like a punch in the stomach but his girlfriend doesn't know who i am she thinks i'm just some girl that hangs out sometimes (i guess?). She asked him what my name was but i couldn't hear if he said anything or not.

He may not have said anything to her because i just started coming around again, or because he doesn't know if the relationship will last a long time or not so it's not worth mentioning. It just seems odd to me not to say something if i'm going to be around more often now.

    I think you know exactly what's on his mind. He wants you to wait around in case his present gf tosses him out. How's your self respect? Time to say, bye, bye, baby, bye, bye.

    No offense, but you're nothing to him, and that's how it should be. Why should he bring his ex up to his girlfriend? She's the girl that matters, not you. You are his ex, you're not special enough for them to have a serious conversation over.

    I don't feel the pressing need to tell my current boyfriend who all of my ex's are. Its ridiculous and so unnessecary. An ex is something of the past, and should always remain so. Ex's are ex's for a reason.

    Why should he tell his gf about u? Ur his ex. Not his gf. I know its like a slap in the face but u gotta move on as well.
