Is it normal for an 12 year old being "interested" in someone a little....older

One of my brothers recently turned 12 and he's really into the girl that takes care of them when mum's at work. He does the best he can to be around her as much as he can, he draws her paintings and has even wrote her a poem (i laughed so hard when i heard him reading it. I know, thats mean). And thats not all. The most insane part is that he actually found the guts to tell her, and he even asked her to wait him until he's old enough to marry her. She always smiles with him and tells me i have the cutest brother in the world, but there ain't no chanse of such a thing happening. I mean she's a grown woman, what are the chances being interested in a little brat such as himself. She's 21 by the way. I've tried many times talk to him seriously about this, but listening isn't his strongest suit anyway. He always end up mocking me that i'm jealous of him and that i should find a girlfriend and stop intervine in his personal life (emphasize on "personal" :P). At first i totally made fun with teasing him about it, but now it goes on for almost 2 years and i don't really believe he's gonna get over it anymore. I think he has taken it way to seriously and i don't want this to end into a drama. Poor thing, you should see his eyes when he talks about her, it feels like his whole emotional world is going to colapse when he finds out that this is actually the real world. So is this a common thing among 12 year olds or we should do something about it?

It's normal for such a crush to develop but I'm surprised it has actually persisted for 2 years. Typically a kid would give up after such a long time.

If he doesn't give up, then it is actually very possible that around the time he's 16 they will probably hook up. I'm not saying they'll necessarily ever have an actual long term relationship but they might actually be fuck buddies for a while for 2 reasons.
1 is that she might start feeling a bit insecure as she realizes she's reaching 30 and here's this young handsome, 16 year old who's all over her but far more importantly than that is the fact that just being around people long enough can make them start to grow on you. Even if nothing happens I promise if he's still persistent by the time he's about 16 she'll at least start to consider it.

May be hard for someone like you to understand, but some people have ethics, and understand that it is wrong to have a relationship with someone in your care, even if they are at the age of consent.

Also, some people don't just think, "Welp, I can't do any better and I sure ain't getting younger...I'll just fuck a kid I helped care for".

      Idiot.

    • I'm 19 you know. And besides that rule is totally bulshit. Teenagers are those who have the most questions and are in bigger need for answers than adults!

no I didn't know and yoy saying so doesn't change that you don't sound old enough to be here. And bullshit or not the owner of the website has every right to make whatever rule they want. The 18 rule is mostly for legal reasons so your bullshit complaint is largely with the legal system.

        • Yeah i'm sure it is.....like there are a lot of rules in the internet. Seriously, don't you know what kids can see or participate in nowadays on the internet. There is no control at all, unfortunatelly. And all the legal system is bullshit anyway, hunts down only the poor and the rich always get away with whatever they do. As for the age limit, i realize that there should be a specific age you "become an adult" but that only applies for the laws. You can't take it like that in practice, there are 14 years olds that are mentally mature and "adults" that are anything but that. And speaking of it I've met a great deal of them in this site. Also since you say you have every "right" to do whatever you want you shouldn't prettend you do it for helping people; rather for your own fun. They probably made this rule so they don't have teenagers in their feet asking age specified questions, so they have more idiots talking about having sex with their mum or raping their dog and stuff like that!
And since you mentioned it twise by now, may i ask why i don't sound old enough to be here?

You're a horrible big sister: stop making fun of his feelings and mocking him - how would you like it?

Leave him alone, he'll almost certainly grow out of it and if he doesn't it's not really your business unless the woman concerned is stupid enough to get really involved with him.

    • Ok first of all i'm not a woman. Secondly, you don't know my brother, i can assure you he enjoys being teased about such stuff (since it also makes him the center of attention). He often puts purposelly himself in such situations. I'm not horrible at all, i love my little bro and i would never dare to even think of doing something that would hurt him. I make fun of him in a totally playfull way. If i was horrible i would have simply told him that he has no chance and that i don't want to be bothered with that subject again. Like i don't have anything better to do (not that i don't have fun with it, but i sure do). And except that, if i was horrible he wouldn't do like crazy when i'm visiting home on holidays, neither would he turn down his friends at that period to stay home with me!
Don't speak if you don't know!
