Is it normal for a woman to 'thrust' during missionary sex?

This question is not is it normal as what is normal in the bedroom is only opinions. What i want to know how common this is and have any of you expierienced this.
A male friend of mine had a gf who used to match his thrusts by 'thrusting' against him in during missionary position sex. I am not talking about moving around a little underneath him. Her 'thrusts' had as much force as his (maximum force) so much so that the bone above his penis would be sore for a few days after . At first they only met at weekends and by the time they moved in together this soreness didn't occur anymore , his body seemed to be accustomed to it.
Having sex like this meant that each thrust of his was, in effect , twice as fast and powerful. They are both young and fit and it was as fast and with as much force as possible. They both loved their sex life but he never asked her about her thrusting technic and he has never expieienced the same since. I want to make it clear that the woman moving aroung a bit while underneath is not what I'm talking about .That doesn't compare at all.
