Is it normal for a rice cooker to scorch sushi rice?

There's usually an inch of unusable rice at the bottom. It's a cheap Dollar General rice cooker, and I want to get a better one, but I want to make sure that scorched rice isn't normal first.

Not normal, I worked in a Japanese takeaway and cooked tons of rice in rice cookers and never had that problem.

Mmm... I love Japanese food. I was literally thinking about sushi like two minutes ago. My Siamese cat is sitting in my lap so maybe he's using mind control on me, but I kid you not as sushi was on my mind.

Go to an Asian market. They should sell pressure cookers that are more reliable inI quality.

I don't think so. Perhaps, the distribution of heat isn't equal? There should be a warranty on it unless, it ran out already.
