Is it normal for a parent to control your humour?

My dad is always trying to control everything. I can understand its neccessary, but I'm beginning to think it's extremely excessive. For instance, when he tells a joke and I don't laugh or say it's not funny he says things like I haven't been on this earth long enough to decide what's funny or not. He refuses to let my mother do the taxes even though she's the one who works. He doesn't want anyone cleaning anything because we'll just "do it all wrong", but he never cleans anything himself. He mocks everyone, even little children. He pushes them until they cry and get mad and then blames them for it. Things like that. It really makes me very upset. Is it normal for him to be like this?
