Is it normal for a mother to sleep in the same bed as her 16 year old son?

The mom has been divorced for about 5 years now, no bf.
Mom recently bought the son a queen sized bed, said it was because son was getting bigger (he's not that big IMO).
She and her son lives by themselves.
She'll sleep in son's bed with her son in it when she has guests. Don't know if she shares the bed when there are no guests...
