Is it normal for a guy to start online convos 1st but always end them quickly?

This guy who is an acquaintance of mine has messaged me on facebook chat quite a few times randomly, trying to start a conversation. It's always if I happen to see him that day; he messages me later and says something or asks a question to start the conversation. He has "liked" a lot of my photos as well. I feel like he's interested but every conversation we have it seems like he cuts it short by saying things like "I'll let you get back to your work now!" Thoughts? I'm kinda confused as to why he's doing this...I really don't give off a "leave me alone I'm busy" attitude!

He likes talking to you but he probably thinks he's an annoyance so he keeps the convo short, next time try engaging him further into the convo that way you assure him that he isn't being a bother

Oh I think he's one of those guys who read that PUA shit, he could be kind of playing the "hard to get" or wants to show you that he is busy(important\has a life), I could be wrong ;)

  • Maybe you aren't engaging that much in to the conversations he starts. I remember doing this to a classmate, I would say hey, make my way in to a conversations, then the person would barely talk, the majority of the things she would type back was "Lol" or ":)", so I just thought "I'm not wasting my time anymore". Then the next day when I went to class, she would be like "Why didn't you reply". I would just sigh and say things like "We weren't really discussing anything important. I mean, what is someone supposed to responde to "lol" or ":)"? Really.

He could be shy or worried about wasting your time.
