True story: I was standing waiting for my cousin minding my own business. This kid probably 6 years old walks up to me. He had one of those things you spin in your hand and they propel up into the air. The kid spun it and whacked himself right in the eye!. He started crying and screaming bloody murder. I've had similar accusing issues with children.
Once I was walking along a path when some young girl on her bike rode up next to me lost control and fell onto her knee. As usual for this situation, her knee started bleeding really bad.
I had no way out! Being less than a foot from her I had to turn to her and condole her, without touching her of course!! (since that would be pure madness of a guy).
Anyway, as per normal (hopefully normal) her mother comes running up out of no where, and gives me the worst daggers ever and immediately turns her back on me pushing me out of the picture. I walked off thinking, the mom probably thinks I did it, since that's the impression I was given.
It was a horrific situation that I've always thought could happen just about anywhere. Men are NOT safe I tell you. If you see this happen seriously RUN.
This has happened too many times to me. Unfortunately it's normal in the times we live in.
I have a few stories about this. Because of past unpleasant experiences I have to go against my natural masculine instincts to help a lost or hurt child.
e.g. One day I see a 4 year old blue eyed blonde haired kid ( I'm not blue eyed blonde haired) crying her eyes out lost in a crowded fruit and vegetable market.
My first instinct is to comfort and help this kid and reunite her with her parents. But, these days, sorry kid, it's just not worth the evil suspicious stares and crazy yelling from your crazy parents. I walk the other way.
