Is it normal for a guy to ask for time to get into relationship?

this guy and me. we have been going out for 2 months and all. he was very into for the first month but he is actually always very busy so lately he is not communicating much and i really have to make efforts to meet him or sometimes even to contact. but suddenly he asked me to come in a relationship while he was drunk. next day didnt pick up phone cause he fucked up but later called back and said he guess he wants relationship. but at night we decided we should not jump to relationship rather talk everyday for awhile and then after exams go out every day. but whenever i call him during the day he doesnt pick up phone and calls at night. what should i do?

    To be honest it sounds like he is reluctant with having you as a girlfriend because he's not that much into you as a person. Just ask him his honest opinions about you, if he finds you not only visually attractive but also funny and interesting to such degree that he wants to spend time with you because of those qualities as well not just because you have pussy between the legs.
    Let's face it - not every relationship is destined to work out and sometimes people fool themselves that it might work out prolonging the inevitable, the end of relationship. Better to end such rs before the marriage...

        "restarting relationship" is either very poor choice of words or it's just empty words. It sounds like he is immature and so are you (no offense meant). You both have some growing to do before having an actual relationship with anyone.
        You can only build upon what you already have not start afresh. He already sees you in certain light and it takes talks and spicing things up to become more attractive in the eyes of partner if something is lacking. But "restarting relationship" is something what a 16 year old teen would say.

            That is what you should absolutely do - focus on graduating and only after that focus on finding boyfriend.
            The spark in this relationship is clearly not there. I'm not trying to give intentionally ill-advice trying to end your relationship. All I'm saying is that from the sound of it there are many flaws/issues that will make the guy feel dull towards you over time.
            If there is no excitement from the beginning then it will not magically appear later on.

    Mine is the same. I'm not in a relationship with him but waiting until after his exams. We have been committed to eachother for 4 months now but not in an official relationship. We don't communicate very much as he revises and as he is in years above he needs his own time....what I would do is wait until after exams, to start focusing on a proper relationship, he maybe stressing from exam revision... just trust him xx
