...but then plan to attend an event with you months in advance? And also to plan on leaving town in the somewhat near future, but then play with the idea of marriage/consider a future with you?

I would be extremely aggravated with this situation, only I don't know what I want either. However, I don't think I can take him very seriously.

We are somewhere in between friendship and dating.

    Basically, the guy likes you, but unsure of what he wants. Since he's planning on leaving town soon anyway, it really doesn't matter.

    Plus, it's a red flag if you guys only known each other for less than a year, and he's already thinking of marriage; he hardly knows you well enough for such a commitment.
