Is it normal for a fantasy to backfire/lover to not realise it's a fantasy?

Earlier today, I sent my boyfriend of 3 years a text saying "I just had a good one ;} [orgasm, for context] will tell you more later x"

His response: "A good what?"

The plan was to stagger texts throughout the day describing the fantasy bit by bit.

Ten minutes after the third text, he sent a reply asking me to carry on, then 10 minutes after that, he called me up worried sick I'd been raped (This, of course, ruined things).

Once I explained myself, we had a laugh about it and he asked me to tell it to him later that evening over the phone.

Although I'm glad both of us saw the funny side of things, I'm honestly quite upset that he'd had NO CLUE that it was a fantasy.
I honestly don't feel like I could have said any more without saying "THIS IS A FANTASY I HAVE BEEN HAVING", which I think would have spoilt things.

I'm starting to wonder if I went wrong, somewhere, though (More details in later posts)

    M I was thinking about getting waxed then after I was done, the technician left the room

    In case you're wondering, I did tell it. Not too sure how he reacted, though he was disappointed to not be the only one in the scenario for some reason.

      well, to be honest, how exactly, aside from the first message being weird in that context or you not calling to begin with, did you expect him to "guess" this was made-up, just a fantasy?

      The technician brushed you a bit, ya, normal, whatever.
      "There were 4 guys surrounding me on the table" - na, not normal. so ya, the focus and attention is drawn to this part, which very much suggests you were in a dangerous and unnatural situation.
      And ya, even if you'd be PROBABLY reacting differently if what he feared had happened, he can't KNOW. So like any good partner regardless of gender, he reacted right:
      If there is a small chance the correct reaction is to be worried for you and try being there for you, and the other, larger chance is to find it amusing, then ya, be glad he choose to be worried, because that shows he cares about you.

      aside from that: If you had included the text, or at least the questionable content that made him call, it would be easier to write something.

      Just like that: Yeah, it's normal other people can't read your mind. It also depends on your usual personality. If you are usually a honest and straightforward person, people may not even double-check to see if maybe it's just a fantasy you are telling them and plan to reveal later. *shrug*
