Is it normal for a crush to last for 4 years?

I kind of liked a guy in high school but didn't really recognize it yet at the time, then randomly thought of him a couple of years later. I looked him up and saw a picture of him, and BAM. I developed a crush that's lasted ever since. I'm embarrassed about it and think something might be wrong with me, since we haven't talked in 7 years, but really clicked and had the absolute best conversations when we did. Has anyone else gone through something similar?

That sounds like a substitute for a real relationship

    • The weird thing is, I'm very on the fence about relationships. The last couple I were in were awful, and I also have almost no sex drive (I've been told my birth control pills, which I take for health reasons, could be the cause or a contributing factor of this). My crushes have never really involved any sexual fantasies either, I fantasize mostly about spending time together and talking, lol. Maybe it's more of missing a friend than anything, I'm really not sure.

You need to meet a guy that knows how to slap you around and master your button

I get it! I had a biig crush on a guy for about 4 years and then he got engaged. It sucked because it was very unexpected but I'm over him now. I don't think he ever knew or will ever know, but it's okay. It just sucked that I spent nights crying over how much I loved him..

  • I think you need to git over it. Find a few dozen stray cats and take them into your house.
