Is it normal for a boyfriend of 3 years to leave if you don't have sex?

So me and my boyfriend of three years refer to having sex as making love. Making love for us is something recent. We are each others first. Sometimes I feel that the only thing keeping us close is doing it. I have a strong feeling if we were to stop doing it we would end up breaking up. Should I try it and tell him I want to stop to see what happens? Or should I just get over it?

    you should grow up, once sex is introduced into any relationship you cannot take it back. sex is n important part of any relationship and if you do not have the desire to be with him you probably shouldn't be with him. How would you feel if suddenly he tells you that you two should not kiss anymore? These idiots telling you that he shouldn't care so much about sex have their own issues. He waited 3 years and you think he is using you for sex? I am sorry but it sounds like you do not love him as much as he loves you. You call it making love, why wouldn't you want to make love with someone you love? I feel sorry for him.

    I'm guessing you see your relationship as a game or some sort of experiment sex is very important in every relationship you can't be sleeping with the guy and then out of nowhere say hey I don't want sex anymore he will surely dump you

    How absolute bullshit i read here.

    I would have dump you if i couldn't get laid anymore even if deeply loved you. Sex is at least 50% of any relationship and to be clear, with no sex there is no relationship.

    Depends. If the relationship ended, would you be okay with that? He shouldn't leave you just because the sex is gone for a while.
