So tell her he died at a casino or in his hotel room. No need to tell her every detail. Unless you feel she could handle the truth. Then you risk having to tell her how long you've known of your Father's extra-curricular activities and never shared it with her.

On second thought...if she's a good woman she deserves to know the truth about your dad so she can forget him and find someone better.

I can understand your dilemma, but this is something between the two of them. It's not your place to tell her the details. That's something she needs to talk to him about.

Speaking as a man who's probably about the age of your father, I have to say that he sounds like a bit of a character (to put it politely). She may be fragile and not all that worldly-wise, but she'd have to be pretty damn dim not to understand that any guy who marries a woman about forty years younger than himself is something of a hound.

Maybe she has her suspicions about what went down, and that's why she's pressing you for details. It seems to me you'd be acting reasonably if you just said you were very uncomfortable talking about what apparently happened, and this is something she needs to discuss with him.
