Iin2b plagued w/ frightening/disturbing visuals when drifiting off?

I've always [generally speaking] been slow to get to sleep (not sure why).

However, for years and years, just as I'm drifting off, I 'see' either one or more creatures with 6 legs (insects!) or a creepy cowboy;s face which starts off small and in the distance but gets larger and closer until I find myself waking up with a start, sometimes trying to swat away the bad things and/or crying out.

I don't know why my subconscious feels the need to do this to me most nights, but I'm sure there is a scientific reason.

I had something similar when I read the Bloody Marry myth in middle school. Every time everyone in the house went to sleep I couldn't stop imagining her coming out of the nearest mirror and killing me in my sleep every time I went to bed. It went on for at least 2 months and the only thing I could do to make me feel better was to turn on the hall light adjacent to the bedroom.

LoL... when im falling to sleep i sometimes dream about Kicking a football and when i do i kick my feet in real life. my grandad also had the very same dream and broke his hip o.O

i also dream about falling flat on my face and just before i hit the floor i suddenly wake up and jump...

And my brother keeps telling me that some nights he walks into my room to get something when im asleep and when he sees me im just staring at him and then i start screaming like crazy at him for like 10 seconds then i just fall asleep, But i cant remember doing it. Not even once D:

Happens to me a lot, and I also have a hard time sleeping. I usually see strange images that slowly evolve over time, and get creepier. As for the images startling you suddenly, that is also normal, most people tend to get a falling feeling as it happens.
Just recently I had a short vision of someone running up to me and poking me in the side, I nearly jumped out of bed! o.o

I get a lurching, falling feeling too!

@packers4, it's not like I'm deliberately imagining these things. They've just been in my subconscious for years and then... they just....... visit me, I suppose.
