Is it normal are romanians scared of cats?

Not to encourage stereotypes but every Romanian I know has either disliked cats or been outright scared of them.
Im talking about 8 people. Several of them refused to come in my house because of my cat. One lady demonstrating a vacuum actually jumped backward when she saw my cat and asked me to "put it away" as if it were a poisonous snake. Is this a cultural superstition or have they all coincidentally just not been cat fans?
I know Muslims don't like being around dogs.

    Yes, there are some superstitions about cats, especially black ones. For example, when you see a black cat (usually, on the street), you have to do this weird thing with jumping and spitting or something like that. Black cats are considered bad luck.
    Anyway, I find it odd that they were really scared of them. I mean, we do have cats in Romania, most of us like them or, at least, are not afraid of them. Maybe the romanians you know are older (they tend to be more superstitious)

    These people are oft not be use to cats, hence the fear when seeing one.

    Using google, one of the results said some Romanians are really superstitious about cats.

      Hey I did some google research about Romanian/cat superstitions. The only "bad luck regarding cats" ones were about the black cat crossing your path and looking at you, and about cats jumping over a dead body(turning them in to vampires!) Nothing I didn't already know. Maybe its just coincidental these people didn't like cats.

      No, hes a tiger tabby, my other cats were calico.
      Ill google Romanian superstitions. One of the people was very educated she was a doctor but my kitty freaked her out lol.

    No wonder so many muslims go radical. Their religious icon was a not man enough to have a healthy sexual relationship with an adult female. Instead he was a sexual deviant and pedophile.
