Is it normal after 5 years my friend left me bcz my parents don't like her?

After 5 years of sisterhood and close friendship, my best friend decided to leave me because she can't handle anymore that my family don't like her.Although she knew that from the first begining. She called me on my cell phone saying painful words... Now I feel so bad because every single thing reminds me of her. And now i'm so confused, because if she really loves me she can't support to live without me, so I keep asking myself, God did she ever loved me or even cared about me?! Although I'm sure that she loved but I couldn't understand her behavior! I faced the whole world for her, I've always considered her my sister and treated her like she really was my sister!

    Unfortunately, people come and go throughout our life time. Some we love very much, others just casual acquaintances. Everyone that crosses your path, has something to offer you. You may not know what it is or what it was for 30 years, but everyone is important. I am sorry for your loss. I understand. Hopefully your BFF will see that the friendship is more important than your family not liking her. Good luck!

    Acceptance can be a big problem. I know a few folks who turn their backs on their own families, people they love, because they weren't accepted.

    You love her like a sister but your parents don't accept her. She probably doesn't want to deal with it.

    My parents have ruined a friendship too. It's tough but i understand why my friend left. Once I moved out of the house i made new friends closer than ever.
