Is it normal a guy friend buys ticket/drinks when out?

A guy I have recently become friends with often pays for my ticket or drinks when we go out somewhere together. Is this normal guy/girl friendship behaviour? It seems more like dating behaviour to me.

    How about you pick up the tab next time if you can afford it or least offer to take your friend out to lunch or coffee sometime?

    It isn't necessarily a "dating behaviour". I shout my friends on occasion (and when I can afford it), don't you?

    Its normal if he has enough money. I treat my friends to dinner and beer when I have extra money, but they do the same for me as well. Otherwise I stop doing it.

    In all seriousness, why do you let him? It's insulting to think women can be bought or don't earn enough that they need men's charity.

      its also insulting to make a scene about who pays for the bill in front of a bunch of other patrons, although I did talk to him afterwards and tell him that although it was a nice gesture I am perfectly capable of taking care of the check myself. No one bought me.
