Iin4a couple who've only been together 2 years to spend xmas together?

Boyfriend and I will have been together for 2 years in December.

He's 21 and I'm 23. We met through being coursemates, then housemates.
Then as part of our courses (Him doing Japanese with Tourism & Leisure, me French & Japanese), we went on our years abroad, which we both enjoyed and managed to survive, both being in a relationship with each other.

* * * * *

This year on the 18th December, we'll be meeting up with some of his family from up north and having a meal while his dad and brother see a football match.

Then his dad will be driving bf and me as well as his grandmother down to bfs' home and I'll be there for Xmas Day (By my own choice..... which I think I now regret).

Surely it's not normal for couples as young as us to meet the other persons' family for Xmas?!

    It is quite normal. If you were 19, I'd say not, but being 21..you're legal and and adult. Two years isn't a whole lot, but why is it not normal to spend xmas together? I find it cute.

      Because it's not normal for me.

      I'm meeting his family this year... I'm worried because we're 'techinically' "engaged"' and I don't want people to ask about marriage and all that crap

    Two years is a long time to not spend Christmas with that person.

    You sound really spoiled. Of course it's normal, for considerate people. A relationship isn't a right, you know? If you can date someone for two years...um, you're in a serious relationship. Otherwise, stop dragging this guy around.

    Of course it's normal. Now if you had only been with him a week I'd say that's a bit much.

    Your just nervous because it is actually happening to you! Everything will be fine and yes it is very normal! It is ok. to be nervous just don't freak out over it! Im sure your family will like him just because you do... hopefully!
