Iin: i'm a newlywed and i'm experiencing an unexpected problem

I'm a newlywed. A little background. My wife and I are both religious Christians and we waited for marriage. So neither of us ever spent the night at the other ones place.

The day after the wedding the problem began. Apparently, when my wife poops, it smells really pungent. She was able to avoid pooping on our dates I guess. I am not kidding here. She can spray or light a match and it still stinks up our whole entire small apartment for at least 15 to 20 minutes and I mean really bad. Like something you can't imagine.

She's so small and dainty. I can't believe it. I would try to ignore it, but it's so foul I keep choking. I really love her. Anyone know how to get a pungent smell to go away faster? Also, IIN?

I don't know where you live but most bathrooms where I live either have windows or exhaust fans keep the door closed and open the window or turn on the fan.

Also as others said there could be something dietary involved. A doctor or nutritionist or Google might have some ideas to help but its also possible its just how it is. Hopefully you can find a satisfactory resolition. Good luck.

    • We do have a window even with the door closed and window open it's still insanely bad :(. I spoke to my wife tonight about seeing a doctor and nutritionist as gently as I could. I didn't want to make her feel worse than she already does. It humiliates her so on a daily basis. She took it pretty well. She wept a bit and said she considered going to a doctor, but was embarrassed. I told her I loved her and wanted to help. I'm going to go with her and wait in the waiting room or go in with her if she wants. She's going to call for an appointment tomorrow. She'll ask the doctor about a nutritionist recommendation. Thanks for your helpful response.

Have her consume copious amounts of dietary fiber and hope for the best.

    • That's scary. Thanks though. I'm going to talk to her tonight about making a doctor's appointment. Yes, they are smelly, but they smell doesn't last nearly as long.

Get her to see a doctor sooner rather than later.

She may need to see a doctor. Foul smelling stool can be the result of her diet, bacteria, or an illness.

Check with a doctor to be sure which one it is.

    • Thanks, after reading all your posts and doing some internet research on my own, I think a gastroenterologist and a nutritionist would be a good start. I will bring it up to her gently tomorrow. I don't want to make her feel worse that she already does emotionally, but I want to help her be healthy and feel better about herself as well. She's a wonderful lady and I love her dearly!

This is probably diet related. She have some food inloerances as well. I know that my waste tends to smell foul when I eat the wrong foods. I've read that eating sulphurous foods can do this as well.

This is a medical problem: she needs to consult a doctor

Foul smelling stools are usually a result of diet.
It is also caused by intolerance to certain food types.
If the stool is firm, then look into what she eats and try removing things one at a time until the problem subsides.
My ex gf stank like a horse barn so I have empathy for you.
