Iis it normal to develop this much oil on your face?

I am 19 and my face and forehead constantly gets oily and it's really annoying! Because of the excessive oil it causes pimples ever now and then but the most irritating part is the amount of oil produced by the skin! All the time I wipe my forehead with a face cloth or my hand and I also find it around my nose and on my cheeks. I know we have a T-section of the face which includes (the nose and up to the forehead. I do use a cleaner but it doesn't seem to reduce the amount of oil, Is this normal O.o??

Wash it with water only and scrub it right with a towel, as often as needed. If you believe soap helps you get rid of oil, you are being fooled. It does on the immediate term, but it intoxicates your skin, making it secrete more and more oil in order to wash away the chemicals. Water and a towel work just fine. They won't put an end to your condition (just like soap won't), but if you do it frequently enough you should be able to avoid pimples almost entirely.

I've had that same problem in the past. When you wash your face/body with products and soap, it strips away the natural, thin layer of oil your skin needs to protect itself. This is called the "acid mantle." When you wash this away, your body goes into over-production mode and trains itself to keep producing more oil. If it's never satisfied, it'll just keep producing more and more.

Also, an important function of the acid mantle is to keep bacteria and other pollutants out of your body via protecting the skin. The acid mantle, when left intact, produces a pH level that kills harmful bacteria. The reason you get pimples/acne is because your skin is being invaded by harmful bacteria.

Pimples can also be caused by oxidized oil on your skin which is produced in abundance when you wash your face with any products (even the most benign soaps).

I've been doing what's called the "caveman regimen" for the last month and a half and it's really done wonders. It takes upwards of a couple of months but my skin's really gotten a lot better and I'm not quite done yet. It just take patience and perseverance. After watching how flakey the skin in my t-zone/forehead became over the last month or so, I realize just how harmful even the most delicate soap is to our skin (I was using olive oil soap thinking it was good for me). My skin has since just about reached the end of its flaking cycle (as I was told it would) and my skin is looking/feeling so much better than it ever has. And I'm not even through with the process yet.

Look up "caveman regimen" if you're interested. There's good information out there. The bad reviews are from people who just weren't up to the challenge. This will work for everyone if they're faithful to it, persevere, and resist cheating! It works because it's simply how the human body functions. Tracy from "the Love Vitamin" blog has an article and a few videos related to it (I think the video updates are two weeks, one month, 3 months, then 16 months or so).

    Good luck.

There are creams for oily skin. Then you should avoid direct sunlight.

I have the same problem, have you tried putting toothpaste over the pimples at night to dry them up? That got rid of a lot of mine.

I read it in a magazine problem page years ago, I was incredulous at first too, but desperation for clear skin lead me to try it. It's worked for me, my sisters and some of my friends, but you have to be careful not to over use it or your skin can go the other way and become overly dry.

oh that's weirdly interesting lol! Well does it only work for pimples though, I mainly need to rid the excess oil on my face since I don't develop many pimples..?
