this is so sad, there is no Portuguese on the poll. well, my first language is Portuguese, English as second language, and the next one that I want to learn is French.
I am learning italian, it's a great language. Otherwise I'd like to learn german.
Took one year of French, failed it. Took two years of German, passed but I kind of cheated (I only know basic German). I think it would be pretty awsome to learn Russian. Russian just sounds like an awsome language. I would also like to try French again. I want to visit France some day so it would be a good idea to learn the language, and I want to learn more German too. I think that would be interesting.

* German
* French
* Dutch
* Mandarin Chinese
* Japanese
* Russian
I already know English (obviously).
RUSSIAN, FOR SURE! they who are able to speak this difficult language, thumbs up for them. i once had learned it by myself. i practiced it by re-writing the letters on some papers after i google it. then.... other languages like Turkish, it's my favorite. i am arabian but arabic is so hard to learn for me as i wasn't born in middle eastern country. then... Italian, because i love Italian songs, especially sung by Tiziano Ferro. then Spanish, because it sometimes sounds easy to hear and speak. then French, i learned it when i was in the final year of high school. we only learned it for a year :(
Arabic because Arab girls are so hot and I would know how to approach them.
Spanish. I've tried to learn it multiple times and I still don't get it. The only thing I've picked up was a few words and phrases from the language.
Already know English and French fluently, might as well learn Italian next. French and Italian are really similar so it'd probably be easy. Plus I'm a baus.
It would be either Latvian, Estonian or Finnish because I love them all.
I'm already fluent at speaking English and Spanish. Lately I've gotten to know the basics of Brazilian Portuguese and some miscellaneous terms. I find myself to be comfortable with the syntax used in this language, so perhaps I'll advance quickly through it in a few more months. One thing's for sure, I can read Portuguese well without having to go back and forth with a Portuguese/Spanish and Spanish/Portuguese dictionary for the majority of the time.
Besides Brazilian Portuguese, the other language that I'd like to learn would be Japanese (hence the language that I chose for this poll) because I think it's universally spoken in Japan without a dialect language looming around that country. Also, it's an extremely challenging language to learn, but I'm up for it.
I'll probably try to learn two European languages before I turn 25, most preferably German and Romanian.
I took French back in the 9th grade in high school. Looking back on it now, it was a poor decision. Taking Spanish would have been much more practical because there were lots of Mexicans at my school. I just had to be different though... I don't really remember much from that class. That was back when I used to smoke ganja and didn't care a whole lot about school. I still have the book though, so I suppose I could still learn if I really wanted to. I doubt I'll want or probably ever have any need to though.
This may be really typical or something, but I watched the original 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' movies, the Swedish versions, and from what I could glean from them, I really enjoyed the way much of it sounded when spoken. I think if I was going to learn another language, that one wouldn't be too bad. It seemed like there were quite a few words that were pretty similar to English too, so maybe the transition wouldn't be too bad.
However, that being said, I could be completely wrong. It could have been just the actors and they could have been completely off or something, it's just a movie after all, so I know I can't base my full impressions for something so diverse as a whole language, off of that alone. I would really enjoy some insight on the language though if anybody is fluent.
Someone please diversify this poor soul!
I chose Spanish because I have an aunt visiting from Colombia who doesn't speak English but basically I want to learn more than one language: Spanish, German, French, Italian. I love German a lot and I studied it in high school and a little in college also I like the sound of Italian. I would additionally like to study Latin too and maybe Greek.
I am learning another language; it's German, so I guess that's my answer. I'd also like to be able to speak Italian, French, Swedish, Russian and Polish, and then maybe some other ones. Not sure how many of those I'll get through or if I'll end up even trying to learn those.:P I do love languages, though.
