If you were given $1 million..

At this very moment, if you were promised $1 million dollars (or your currency equivalent to $1mil) but you could never set foot in your country again, would you take it?

No loop holes. No changing your name in order to get back into the country without anyone knowing. Take the question at face value!

I'm not sure I could take it because as much as I don't like my country, it's where my family is. Granted, if I were to take it, I could just pay for them to come see me. It just wouldn't be the same not being able to visit the different parts of the country that I would still like to see. Maybe if I were older and didn't have much left to live for but right now, I couldn't.

Of course! 48
Never! 48

Wow, one million would probably get you a litre of fuel here :/

I'd buy you a green dress—but not a real green dress; that's cruel!

I would take it and never look back. My country has nothing to offer me anymore.

I live in a shithole, it's clearly stated on my profile.

No amount of money would persuade me to abandon where I'm from. More than anybody else I know, I am completely tied to exactly where I am right now, and my family have been tied here for thousands of years. Not here, as in my country. Here as in right here. This place I sit. I have a connection that I can't begin to explain. It's like being married but for millennia.

Dumbass she is asking whether you mean country of birth or country where they now live. She probably doesn't give a fuck where you are from.

Wouldn't even consider it, not for any amount of money. I LOVE traveling and seeing the world, but I'll always end up back home :)

  • Not right now,but if I ever decided to move to Canada I would.

Yes. I would invest that money into many things and open up a business that would hopefully one day go international. I would leave the U.S. and go somewhere in Europe or Australia to try and make this happen. Once I am financially set, I will move my family with me.

I don't think 1 mil is enough to stay out of the US forever.

Yes. I hate my birth country. With that amount of money I could move to Europe and live quite comfortably.

Of course I would. I hate my country for starters. And I love money for the power and status it gives you.

I've always wanted to get out of this shithole called America and move to Europe. And to get paid 1 millions dollars too? Hell yes, I'll take the next flight out.

Yes, I'd do it right away for 100k, would consider doing it for 10k.
Maybe my nickname will give you a hint why.

would I still have the equivanent of 1 million dollars us once I converted it to the Currency of a new country, or would I get it in the currency of where I am moving to?

also, I would probably need more than a million to move form the us, Things are expensive in
Europe. I guess i could live in canada easily on a million, things arent too much more expensive or different from the us, (except in quebec and montreal. )

so, i dunno, sounds tempting though, probably move either to canada or germany.

Your country, as in where you were born? Or where permanent residency is?

I couldn't leave NYC and never come back. [but I could skip out on visiting russia or moldova]

I can't make a decision theoretically. A million dollars can buy a lot of capital, and running a business important to me.

I wouldn't be able to take the money. There are many things to hate about this country, but so many things to love. As much as we're slowly becoming more against the people than for them, people are still better off here than in countries still running on communism.

I live in the UK. I would move my family out (my families small)

I would probably move to the USA or Austria.

I think there should be a middle ground option. Because for me I don't think I would never leave my country especially for a million dollors, but I don't think that I would just pick up and leave! I don't really have a problem leaving my country, more so my family. But I don't have family outside the country, but I don't know if I would really want to live in Texas. I as well don't know if I just want to have money handed to me, I think I would want to work for it, do something to earn that money. I'm a very indecisive person so I'm really not sure. Though I did pick 'of course' because I do think it would be cool to live in Australia, UK, Italy, etc. Though that would be another topic all together, deciding where I would live....

    Maybe.

I don't feel any loyalty to where I am from, it's just a place. Even if I did I wouldn't think of leaving as abandoning my country or my part of the country.

What I would have hang-ups about would be leaving my friends behind, and my family.

  • Darkoil

No. If I were to get 1 million right now my life probably would not change that much and seen as I'm working towards a goal specifically in this country then moving would defeat the point.

I love visiting other countries, but I could never live the rest of my life in another country.
As much as I complain about my country, I really do love it. I think it's amazing.
