Saw a poll recently that asked what you would do if you saw a rape in progress. Sadly, people who would just call the cops were ranking the same as people who would actually physically help a fellow human out. Discouraging. Now it's your turn in the barrel...What would you want people to do??

come and rescue you, despite potential injury to themselves 26
scream and point, til a crowd appears and sees you getting raped 7
call cops on phone, and let the rapist keep raping 4

    In my fantasy i would want people to ignore it but in reallity i would hope they helped out or got help

    I wouldn't want anyone else to become physically involved just in case there was a risk of them being attacked themselves.

    But to ask if I'm OK or something (or even call the police DISCREETLY) would be good.

    I'm not expecting anyone to come to my rescue....

    I would want them to call the cops, then maybe try to physically help me if they can.

    Other, nobody could rape me if they wanted to unless they had multiple other people to hold me down, which is implausible.

    I would physically go there and try to fight them. I tend to overestimate myself in certain situations, so that would be in fantasy. If it really happened, I would go for long distance attacks like throwing rocks and hopefully not hitting the victim.

    Bill Nye "The Science Guy" collapsed in CA while lecturing at a university. People got on their phones to take pictures and call 911 instead of physically checking him out. Some comedian was gunned down somewhere on the streets, and same thing. Someone actually went up to him (I think he was dead or dying) and snapped a shot of the blood pooling around his head. This poll was to find out how many here would be real and help a fellow human out. Disturbing new trends show otherwise.

    I don't think you know until you are in that situation. If someone asked me what I'd do if I saw a random stranger being kicked in the head, I might say that I'd run in and help him but actually be unsure that I really would.

    In actuality, I did see this happen and I did run in. The strangest thing is that something inside you takes over and says "that really isn't right". I'm not some kind of hero (far from it) but I believe basic human nature makes you act a certain way. I'm glad I did. Even moreso given that the attackers ran off without me having to get beaten up too.

    If it had have been a rape, I imagine I'd do the same thing. I hope I would, anyway.

    It depends on the mood I'm in. If I was in a good mood, I'd help. If I was angry, I'd laugh. Otherwise, I'd just ignore it.
