If you were a girl, 15 years old and fell pregnant, what would you do?

I know a 15 year old female who just found out that she is pregnant, has hardly anything in her bank account, has an unstable boyfriend, no job, hardly goes to school, still smokes (friends are trying to make her stop) and is clearly NOT ready to have a baby!! She can't even take care of her self.
Her family don't give a shit either.
I sense that her "boyfriend" is just using her for sex and is 17.
What would you do if you were in her situation or what would you suggest?

If you would do anything other that that mentioned above on the poll, just comment.

This girl goes to my school, except like I have mentioned above, she hardly ever goes.
One day she just rocked up with a big belly, it was quite a shock for most people, but I knew because I am in classes with her elder cousin who you can hear a mile a way.
I guess you could call it eavesdropping haha

Everytime I am in math or health class the saga of gossip and rumors begins!

I accidentally voted adoption instead of abortion, my mistake. I would never want to force that decision on someone else, but if I were in her position that's what I would do.

The sad truth of the matter is most children put up for adoption are never adopted. And if she can't even worry about her child's health she shouldn't be bringing one into the world. Seriously, still smoking??? I'm a smoker myself, I don't judge people for smoking, but not when you're possibly causing irreversible damage to a fucking infant.

Adoption. I made the mistake but it could be someone's blessing.

If I were in the girl's situation, having a family that didn't care and little in the way of future or financial prospects, I would look into giving the child up for adoption.

The fact of the matter is that it's not about MY happiness. It's not about MY feelings. Once you have a baby, it's no longer about you anymore. It's about the baby, and as a Mother, I would want to do whatever I can to ensure the baby will have some semblance of a normal life and if I know that I won't be able to provide anywhere near the love and care that a child will need, then I will do my best to find someone who will.

My Mother was adopted and I thank God that she was, and she is also very happy to have been adopted as well and would not trade her childhood or her parents for anything. If she had not have been, her life would have been so much worse. Sometimes, it's best to keep the child within their natural family - a child doesn't need designer clothes and home cooked meals every night to have a happy childhood - but every child deserves a halfway decent childhood and as a Mother, it's my job to see to it that this happens.

In my present situation, if I were to get pregnant, I would have a husband to help support me. We don't make much money, but we both have jobs and there are plenty of government and church services available to us. A lot of women aren't as lucky to have what I have and I feel terrible for them.

I would definitely try my best to keep it. I'm not against abortion or adoption, but I feel those aren't the best options. Having a baby will be hard no matter what your situation and as long as you have a good support system, you'll make it through whatever comes your way.

Anyone with a kid will say having a baby changed their life, most of them will say it was a positive change. Why throw away something with the capability of making your life so much more than it is; adding more joy and happiness than you could think of.

I always thought a young teen shouldn't keep their baby because of their situation but a baby changes people and makes them want to do more for themselves. Sometimes it's just what they need to get their life back on track.

I could not agree more with what you said. I look at the situation the same exact way except for abortion I believe everyone at least deserves a chance to make it in this world.

I am with you on that as well, but it wouldn't bother me if other women got one. They can do what they think is right.

Well, it's not even that I don't personally agree with it, I just wouldn't do it myself.

I would've said adoption but you mentioned the girl still smokes even while she's pregnant, which definitely is not going to help that baby in the slightest.

I do not know because I did not have sex at that age. I was too busy to study and work. I am a late bloomer.

Adoption, they will pay for all her medical bills and pay for the baby. The baby will grow up loved and cared for with people who has the money and maturity to do so. And she will have time to live her childhood and grow up maybe one day she will make a wonderful mum but I dont think right now isnt the best time.

Most people keep it and go on welfare. Think that they are somehow changed (not always the case). Use contraception bottom line!

i hear people talking about adopting. if the mom smokes and has low grades, they won't consider the baby at all. plus they would want both parent's family health records.

If it weren't me I would've been screwed. My family's shock and anger would have been like the Tsar Bomb and that nuclear power would've washed down on me. I wouldn't want to have to do with childbirth so, I would probably get an abortion, but there's always the risk that I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it. So, adoption would be the next best choice.

What do figures of authority (like the teachers or the school guidance consular) think?
It depends on how pregnant she is? Past a certain point, the fetus begins to develop it's important body systems. If it has already gone past that point I don't think it would be a good idea to abort. I've always wonder if the fetus can "hear" or "feel" it's death. If she does have it she needs to give it up for adoption and maybe child services should get involved with her life.

I was pregnant when I was 15, the father didnt know and neither did my parents or friends. I'm 20 now and I regret having that abortion every day of my life. I know that doing that was what was best for me, it allowed me to get an education, and do a bit of growing up. But Some times I wish that I did the wrong thing and had the baby. If I did I would be a mommy and have a 5 year old. I'm not saying that it is the right thing to do, but if i could do it all over again, I wouldnt have the abortion, and would go through witht he pregnancy.

  • In America if you have a child you get a lot of government assistance. I personally need healthcare, and I would get it if I got pregnant. I am not so desperate that I need to get pregnant yet... I think she should keep it and be happy that with it at least the government gives a shit about her, because the way it sounds, nobody, not even her does!
