If you support the death penalty, you should be entered in a lottery

In the US, an estimated 4%, or 1 in 25, inmates sentenced to death are actually innocent.

Based on this, I believe that all the supporters of the death penalty over 18 (voting age) should be put into a lottery where 4% of them will be imprisoned on death row for a term of 5 years and then executed.

Politicians who promote the death penalty should be put into a separate lottery consisting only of public officials (lawmakers), and 4% of them will be chosen. This is because they have direct power over the law so their chances should be higher, putting them in with the general population would dilute their chances of being chosen too much. Plus it would add security, and ensure no cheating from those in the highest positions.

Agree? Disagree? Have a better plan?

So you are against killing people for severe crime yet want to kill people who are for it for thinking?

Another point I have to make is that no system is perfect and always subject to change and can change depending on the gravity of the issues involved, this is why the scales of justice are scales.

When the system no longer works, we go to a different practice. It may turn out that killing for severe crime will come back as life is circular in this fashion anyway.

Logic is not reality, logic is in fact just the human way of attempting to understand things, limited to humans, humans are imperfect so can only create more imperfection.

But if you disagree with the death penalty then say you want people who agree with the death penalty to have the death penalty, then that means you really DO agree with the death penalty :/

Obviously no one is ever going to go for this.
