If you play the stock market long enough are you guaranteed to make money?

I just want money to spill into my bank account without doing anything.

You have to know what you are doing to play the stock market and actually get money. For every person who gains a million dollars on the stock market there are hundreds who lose money. You could potentially get some money by buying stocks in a company that is already big like Apple or Microsoft, but you wouldn't make that much money off of them. You could also try going through a stock broker, but there is still no guarantee that you will make money.

In short the stock market is really risky especially for people, like you, who don't know what they are doing and think it is easy money. That being said Stocks isn't a bad thing to invest, but just don't think you are going to get rich off of it.

No it's rigged. All major averages kick companies out and replace them with new ones.

Well, if you look very long term, like decades, the stock market can be a good investment. But, it has its ups and downs and it’s completely possible to lose money in an up market if you buy the wrong stocks. If you’re a beginner, you might want to start with no/low load mutual funds or indexes. If you want to take big risk for possible big gains look at puts, calls and shorts, or make investments in new companies with exciting prospects. All that said, we are way over due for an extended down market, so only invest what you could lose and not be devastated.
