Do it, stay alive for a while, then probably commit suicide. I would see no point in living if I can't even walk.
Dafuq is wrong with you people. This is one of the cases where you kill yourself. If this happened to my ma I don't want her to saw off her leg for me.

I'm not even sure if you could torquinet your leg tight enough to stop from bleeding to death, unless you're cutting off the foot, in which case you would have to burn the entire end of the leg until it stopped bleeding or pull out all the arteries with a hook and tie them.
I'm not sure what I would do if the situation were to present itself. If I was in the middle of nowhere and figured I would probably bleed out before getting to a hospital then probably not. If I was near enough to people that I had a chance to survive then I would think that I would but I really can't say for sure.

Funnily enough I asked the doctors to amputate my leg when the pain of a blood clot was just too much to bear. They didn't but I didn't think twice about it.

This reminds me of the guy who got his arm caught under a boulder and was faced with the decision to amputate it or die of exposure and dehydration. He cut it off, through bone and all.
