I love The Smiths and their music means so much to me and they write about things that seems to have happened to me. If anyone hates them or doesn't like them, I am unsure about if that person really could be close to me.

Everyone has different taste and preferences so for you to judge someone simply because they may not like a band you like is not normal. You are going to miss out on a lot of good people thinking like that.

Exactly. No one is going to like every single
thing you like especially when it comes to music. I have a ton of friends who have similar music taste but don't like every thing I listen to and vice versa. Guess op didn't like that I didn't agree with his/hers immature outlook on life.
I agree with Tayler. If you get along with someone morally, who cares if someone doesn't share your taste? Putting so much stock in your opinions and preferences is immature and egotistical. Get over yourself and people might actually be able to like you
Sure, The queen is dead is a great record, alot of morrissey's solo stuff is better though.
I think it's understandable to feel that way regarding you favorite things to a certain degree. I feel much the same way regarding non animal lovers.

joy division were better. but come to think of it, their singer was a fag as well but at least he didn't shove in people's faces
