If you could make someone unable to lie....

You can pick ONE person for ONE day to put under a spell which renders them unable to lie to you. You will have 24 hours to ask all the questions you want about anything or whatever else you choose to do. It's a one-on-one thing, you are the only one the spell works for (the person will carry on as normal as far as everyone else is concerned, they wouldn't be compelled to lie to anyone else).

Would you do it? With who?

      • Thats not what I mean because then anyone can lie if they can hold a straight face. It depends on their face and how they are acting and you have to trap them in words.

So you don't actually know when they are lying. You are just trying to make sure if they are lying or not, by setting up a "trap".

I honestly usually notice when someone is lying and I don't need to make sure. The pitch of their voice, speaking patterns (repeating some words more than normally), their movement...

          • That doesnt make you good at detecting a lie that just makes them bad at lying. Voice tone can tell you when people who cant lie are lying but good liars use tones at specific times and use their movements and tones to their advantage.

Whoa, you two! You're both right. There is more than one way of disproving a lie. One way is being intuitive about a person's body language. The other is picking the lie apart until it becomes obvious it's a lie. I prefer the first because it's less confrontational, but I think ItDuz and I are often better at the second way. I'd still rather be able to do the first better, though.

    "Yes, to a public figure."

POTUS, excepting when it's truly national security issues.

Public figure, so I can ask all the questions I want and discover the secrets they hide. Blackmail.

I admit, I'm quite the evil child.

Honestly I think people that we know are entitled to keep secrets, some we really don't want or need to know, so I'd pick someone of power. The president. I think we as the people have a right to know about our countrys leader, don't you?

I have a special someone in mind for this. I know when this person is lying but I would like to hear the truth come from his mouth for once.

Maybe I would make myself not lie but I am not going to force decisions upon others.

Its not that I don't trust my bf... but there are a few questions I think he may not allow himself to know the truthful answers to, the ones you ask and they say they don't know how to answer the question. Somewhere inside they must know, they just won't admit to themselves or you what the answer may be. Those are the answers I'd use this to get. Consequences be darned.

I would love to give an interesting and clever answer but it's either a member of my family or someone I've been personally involved with.

I don't think this says good things about me or my relationships with the people closest to me.

  • I can too for the most part but there have been times when I have been proven wrong much to my astonishment so I would def take advantage of this.

  • Ooops, typo above-I meant to say "the person will not be compelled to tell the truth to anyone else". I put "lie to anyone else" by accident!!
