"Going crazy"? No way, guy: this is a very common--like THE most common--optical illusion. It has nothing to do at all with your mental stability. It's something to do with the photosensors in your eyes becoming over-sensitized, and temporarily burnt out, by the pattern (like, the image) you've been staring at too long. So, it transfers the photonegative image of that over onto the next thing you look at. Same shapes, same forms--opposite colors. If you're NOT experiencing this, go see an optometrist.
Yes this is totally normal. I learned about it in art class. It's called an afterimage
Wikipedia says this:
An afterimage or ghost image is an optical illusion that refers to an image continuing to appear in one's vision after the exposure to the original image has ceased. One of the most common afterimages is the bright glow that seems to float before one's eyes after looking into a light source for a few seconds.
This happens to me all the time. Especially if I close my eyes. It also happens with sound, sometimes the last thing someone has said resounds in my mind, especially if it was an exclamation.
Wow Darin. That's my brother he just learned about it on some illusion thing...
