    Damn, I am in the Tg community and had not heard that one yet.

    Of course with this whole "63 different genders" bullshit going on, I guess it should not surprise me.

        Well...
        Some people out there who are not a fan of transgender are not going to be concerned if a word is offensive or not.

        Of course the word "trap" almost never has a good implication. Unless one is talking about their trapezius muscles.

        I honestly never heard of us being called "traps" til today. I am not one though because unlike the younger pretty ones, I am not overly convincing as a female.

        "Transgender" is the PC word. There seems to not be a "main" offensive word for us. Even the TG community cannot seem to agree on correct or incorrect words.

        As far as the convincing looking Tg having sex with unknowing men, some have done that and got killed over it. Most of us are smart enough not to engage in sex before telling the partner, "You do know what you are getting into, yes?"

          Eh, I'm pretty sure 'trap' came from the porn community, for exceptionally convincing transgender chicks. Or maybe just men in drag, rather than actual trans women. People rarely clarify these things.

          Either way, it's certainly one of those terms that's probably a bit more off-color than people using it may consider it.

            Very true about not knowing the origins. I think that is why even the TG community cannot agree on exact labels. Labels suck.

            I just found it interesting because I have heard many terms for transgender but never that one.

            Usually in porn, they are or were called "she-males".
            In cases where it would be a "trap" like, "Hey man, would you sleep with this chick?" Later it is said, "That's a dude!"

            Regardless of what one calls a transgender, one thing is certain - like anyone else, we are not fond of words that mock us. I mean who wants to be insulted?

    I always thought a trap was a guy pretending to be a girl online or vice versa to get with someone of their own sex. In that case, the trap themselves would be gay I guess, but in this case it really depends on which gender the trap identifies as.

    Assuming you define trap as a male who is a pre-op trans M to F, you're talking about a girl who likes a guy. So, technically not gay. Unless.............she likes him because he reminds her of the females she's usually attracted to. Then we could argue this in circles until I would finally say "why the fuck does it matter and why do you need to label her?"

    To the OP - I should have properly answered this.

    No it is not "gay". People love who they love. If you are dating a "trap", consider this -

    Some people will say you are gay of course. Probably the same people that will assert, "That is still a man no matter what".
    There are some REAL assholes out there who feel the need to put their two cents when it comes to any type LGBT relationship. If YOU are dating one of us, that is great. Let the haters fuck off.

    Sexual "preference" is really just a preference. It's what you prefer. so that's what it would really depend on.

    Like how guys who constantly talk about how not gay they are are really saying "I still haven't given in to the constant temptation to blow dudes" because they are actually gay.
