If a gay couple fights, is it considered an abusive relationship?

I got really mad at my boyfriend a few weeks ago and when he turned to go down the stairs I pushed him. He broke his shoulder and got a concussion and might lose his hockey scholarship over it. He's a thrower, like if he's mad enough and there's something in his hand, chances are I'm going to get cracked with it. It's not like we constantly fight, but we're both hotheads.

We are a gay couple and guys fight all the time, plus he always gets in fights. So it's kinda different when we get physical then compared to like a malexfemale relationship. I know if like a guy pushed his girlfriend down the stairs it would be a huge massive thing, but we are both guys, so it isn't really.

Guys fight. It's normal and people don't bat much of an eye to it. If two friends fought it wouldn't be an abusive friendship, right? So does that change if the two are romantically involved?

Yes, a gay couple fighting is abusive. 43
No, a gay couple fighting isn't abuse. 6

Yes, physical abuse is abuse regardless of the gender or sexuality or relationship status of the individuals involved.

    Cretin.

Just because guys fight doesnt mean the relationship isn't abusive. Abuse is abuse end of story.

    What Charli.m said^

Also, that's horrible! Even after his shoulder heals, it'll never have the potential it once had.

I mean call it what you want. I hope both of you learn that getting shit thrown at you/getting pushed down the stairs are not prerequisites for being in a relationship. That you can get all the good stuff without enduring physical assault.

Also grow the fuck up, breaking your boyfriend's shoulder is not cute.

sorry idk what got into me. Use your words I think applies regardless of genders involved in my opinion. Of course power dynamics are different, but it doesn't make it any less wrong IMO. Friendships are easier to break off than relationships, especially if you are living together, which is why domestic abuse is an issue more so than friend abuse/assault. This is what makes it worse, not one person being a girl
