Ideas on what to do about chronic eczema when all else fails?

I'm 19 years old, and I've been living with eczema since I was 4. I've been managing it pretty well my whole life with antihistamine nasal sprays (Budeflam and Beclate) and antihistamine tablets (mostly allergex, texa and some other small white ones), and Mylocort cortisone cream/ointment when patches of it would flare up.

Usually it was confined to the bend of my elbow on the inside of my right arm, and whenever it flared up (mostly during winter and spring) I would use my cortisone cream and the itchy, red, raised patch would subside and I would carry on like normal. I lived a normal life.

However, around this year end of may/beginning of june, when winter began, my eczema started to spread. I developed more itchy, red patches on my hands, lower and upper arms, very few on the chest/neck area and some on my inner thighs. I have never had eczema in these spots before, nor has it ever been this resistant to treatment.

Mylocort has stopped working, as has the nasal spray and tablets, and I'm at a loss as to what the fuck I should do. I'm up all night itching. I already battle with self image issues, and these unsightly red patches aren't helping. I've asked everyone close to me if it looks as ugly as I think it does and they all they its not noticable unless I point it out, but I'm still freaking out.

I've tried a stronger cream with an anti inflammatory agent, I moisturise everyday several times a day with 100% fragrance free Johnsons baby aqueous cream, I've even started using Bennets nappy rash cream on the inflamed patched which seems to calm them down for a while until they flare back up or new patches form.

I've tried all the oils, most of the natural home remedies, and nothing helps. I need advice. Has anyone on here effectively treated chronic eczema with something other than what I have mentioned? Please do not tell me to see a dermatrologist, I'm not a god damn millionare. I fully intend to go see a state doctor but I can only go next week tuesday at the earliest and I need relief until then.

And no, cutting out dairy, wheat, gluten, nuts, eggs, shellfish and any other food has not helped. Tried that when I was diagnosed with eczema. Doctors have already concluded my eczema is chronic, allergy based, and the meds that used to control it for 15 years have suddenly stopped working. Anyone have any advice for me?

Look into allergies/ food and environmental. Have blood and skin allergy tests, theres a good chance something/things you eat is causing it, maybe more than one thing, and you may have to see what youre allergic too. Good luck, skin problems suck.

pharmaceuticals suck! I would recommend checking the edgar cayce material. On the unsolved mysteries show I remember a famous example of a boy with terrible eczema and all treatments and creams from the doctor failed, but the treatment he gave worked perfectly. research edgar cayce's holistic medicine.

What radar was saying makes sense in some way, but as a chronic eczema sufferer myself, I know that simply leaving it alone doesn't help. With something as uncomfortable as eczema, you need relief, and fast, before you scratch your skin broken.

While it is true that certain creams/products could definetly aggrivate eczema, particularly scented creams, soaps, or any cream containing sodium laurel sulphate, it is also true that most of the things you've been trying are common things people use in an attempt to relieve their itching and inflammation.

Eczema can be controlled by taking antihistamines every single day, yes every single day. However, for a significantly bad flare up, you will need something a lot stronger than antihistamines and your average jo moisturizers and creams. You need cortisone.

Prednisone to be exact, which is a schedule 5 medicine so prescription only. It clears up severe exaccerbations of eczema within 5 days when you take four 5mg tablets everyday for 5 days.
