I worked retail and hated it, bled for $9.50 per hour...

The chain make's between 2 & 3 billion per year and has 15,000 to 20,000 employee's... Business model #1, that is approx...$100,000 to $200,000 per year per employee working in a safe environment, giving the same great deals to customers, customer service is exponentially better by like a million times..., no one is exploited...

Business model #2...Compare that to $9.50 per hour at the bottom...I was there for 2 years and my wage fluctuated from $9.50 to $10.50 and back down to $9.75 or something, and it was very hard miserable work at that wage...practically everyone is unhappy, treating each other and the customers badly ...meanwhile the people at the top are billionaire's...the sales people make probably between $20,000 & $40,000 per year...

Personally I think both models are far from perfect but I the first business model works better ...which model do you like better? 1 or 2?

P.S-I wouldn't work for business model #2 if I was young (unless I was going to college or something), I personally would much prefer networking behind bars...(Don't do anything too heavy to get locked up though...)

I think Capitalism is a corrupt system that feeds on peoples greed, a perpetual burning fire that feeds itself and creates more misery...this is my opinion which I am entitled to express in a (for the most part) free country...

  • it is why you have to work so hard at a young age to ensure that you become the people that make the money rather than the people that the money makers use.

I agree with you. I've never understood this business mentality of investing so little in your staff, resulting in quick staff turn-over and low levels of motivation. Obviously this will lead to lower levels of customer services and potentially loss of business. It's no wonder there's more absenteeism in unhappy and high-stress work environments. It all seems like such a false economy to me.... I could go on.

  • Business model #1 is favorable, obviously, but not perfect. What were you doing exactly, making clothing?

    Business Model #2.

I don't think you have thought of the SERIOUS implications BM #1 would cause. Economic collapse? A VERY boring world to live in. Nothing to stride for?

As a race, we haven't evolved to share things equally for a very good reason. It doesn't and wouldn't work.
