I want to stop taking my anti depressants

I have been taking anti depressants for at least 2 weeks now , I don't feel much of a change but my sex life is different now, I can't orgasm and I did my research and it says its almost impossible or difficult to achieve orgasms on anti depressants and it decreases your sex drive I'm still young and have raging hormones. I'm addicted to masturbating and I feel forced to stop now. Will my depression get worse if I stop taking them.

You risk going into withdrawal if you stop taking them. Talk to your doctor about other anti deps you can take. Sometimes it takes a while to find the one that works best for you.

  • You have to taper off those slowly or you will go crazier than you even were before you got them.
Used properly psych meds can help some people, but they are often abused and over prescribed.
Usually the negative effects are only temporary too and unless you are on instant release pills, they take a long time to kick in (usually a month). If you just started taking a low dose recently you should be fine quitting while youre ahead. I recommend taking them consistently for a long time, or not at all.

It shouldn't actually start working so quickly. It may be in your head a little. When I took anti-anxiety meds I got a little paranoid from them. Don't read the side effects. If you're that worried you can ask somene else to read them and have them watch for side effects. As for going off anti-depressants after two weeks, there wouldn't really be a big withdrawal, but I would talk to your doctor to be safe.

I didn't say you were paranoid, I said it was slightly in your head. Meaning you may be pushing yourself not to orgasm without realizing.

There are many side effects of anti-depressant medicines for example weight gain, can't obtain much sleep, over-eating stomach gets annoyed, loss of concentration additionally vision problems and so on. I think risks are actually enough, since many people who attempted to committing suicide while getting antidepressants didn't formerly have taking once life ideation.

Anti Depressants are terrible for you. I would seek holistic support, those doctors will find imbalances in your system and will actually help you boost your happiness with supplements/vitamins. You should also consider a blood test for vitamin D as that is HUGELY linked to happiness levels. If your D levels are too low, you may feel even worse. I remember having a blood test that revealed extremely low levels of vitamin D and I started getting depressed so I started reading about vitamin D and took a bunch each day and within a month, my depression was nearly GONE. Doctors tried to push anti depressants on me but I opted out as soon as I heard the dreaded words as those do more harm than good.

I'm pro alternative medicine but conventional medicine has its place, too. It is so dangerous to tell someone to stop taking their medication. You do not know their medical history.

It's not always the best option, but sometimes it is. I had to take them for a while, having sworn I never would, because it was the smart and best option for me. They help get you to a place where you can help yourself get better.
