I want to name my baby this?

I'm 5 months pregnant and I've thought up a few names, but I have two favorites for each gender.

If its a girl, I want to name it Autumn.
If its a boy, I want to name it Sasha.

However, it seems that name Sasha for a boy has gotten me a lot of negative feedback, which I found disrespectful. What do you think?

Sasha- No, horrible name. 27
Sasha- Yes, it's a good name. 4
Autumn- No, bad name. 0
Autumn- Yeah, great name. 8
I hate both. 12
I love both. 14
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

    • In my defense, I think Sasha is a nice sounding name for a boy, and I know for a fact that I'm not the only mother in the world who has named their kid that.

But, if it's that horrible, then my second choice would be Jeffrey, or David. Maybe Arin.

Name it after me dytrog. It will turn out to be a little monster. So the name would fit.

For the love of God just name the kid something normal like Steve or Rachel

    • Personally, I dislike both those names. No offense to anyone named that, it just doesn't set well with me.
I've come up with normal sounds as well, such as Jeffrey, David, or perhaps Emanuel.

Maybe it's because I don't live in an English speaking country, but I really don't get what's wrong with Sasha.
The whole "he'll get teased for it" idea is kinda stupid. Kids tease who they want. If they like him, they don't care what his name is, and if they don't like him, they'll find a way to mock him anyway.
I'm a guy and I like the name Sasha. I picture like a cool silent russian dude.

I was told by an acquaintance that "Sasha" is the Russian version of the name "Alex". Plus there is an actor by the name of Sasha Baron Cohen (sp) (he starred in Borat, Sweeney Todd, and Les Mis, among other things)

A son would not thank you for the name Sasha. Why not Sue instead?

Sasha would work if you were Eastern European. Otherwise, don't go with it; in the west, people think it sounds "girly."

Give your son a more normal-sounding name, like Czeslaw Arkadiusz.

I want to name my daughter Autumn! I love that name on a girl
I am a woman, and my name is Sasha (it was really the best name ever until beyonce stole it, now every time I go somewhere its "oh like Sasha fierce." yes bitch, like sasha fierce, give me my damn card back.), and they only time I have ever heard a man be Sasha is if he is of Russian descent. But hey, I've met men named Ashley and Jasmine, so if it makes you happy go for it.

Autumn's not too bad, but Sasha sounds too much like a girl.

Why not name the boy Alexander. Sasha is a nickname for Alexander. You can do both.

I like Autumn a lot but not Sasha. Girls do much better with unique names than boys do socially and also in how they like their names. I don't like Sasha for either sex it sounds weak for a boy and reminds me of husky dogs ?!
May I ask what other boys names you like ?

I think Marthew and David are the best on your list. Matthew means " gift of God" and David means" loved ".

Here's my thinking. First of all, both are good names. I can understand why the negative feedback with Sasha, but it seems to me that names are defined by the people bearing them, not the other way around. For example I have a very dull, boring name. So average that everyone stopped using it. But I've never minded or wanted to change my name. It's my name, and I'm me. I've had friends who had names that I previously didn't really like, but my view of the name always changes because of them. Name your kid what you want, and maybe they'll get teased in 3rd grade, but it won't matter in the long run. I can totally picture a very beautiful girl talking about her very gorgeous and strong boyfriend, Sasha.

Autumn's ok I suppose but I don't like the name Sasha for a boy. But it's your call.

    I know a Sasha (Sacha?), who's a real top guy. So I think it's a good name.
Autumn leaves a bit to be desired, but it's still a nice enough name.

    • I like the name Autumn because it's my favorite season and there's a lot of beautiful colors in it, plus some great holidays (Halloween being my faovrite.)

Though, it would be ironic if my kid ended up hating the season and preferred summer time more lol.
