I want to make friends!

I lost all my friends and id like to make new ones, but to start I have a lot of old school friends on Facebook, haven't spoke to them for years. Is it normal to just pm them ? Or is it creepy? What sort of thing should I say?
One girl has just had a baby, she was my best friend through primary and she moved to Spain, she came back and ended up in the same high school as me but we didn't speak, different classes and she got in with the popular kids. I want to say congratulations but I feel weird doing so :/ pm or on the post she's written?

Why are you looking for friends in your past? They have even less in common with you now, than they did back then.
The only things most school kids have in common with each other is geographical habitation and age. Now you only have age.
Join a club or an activity. Surround yourself with people that have the same interests as you. How can you NOT make friends under those circumstances?

Finally! Somebody in the 21st century who values friendship. I would love if an old classmate wanted to rekindle friendship with me. PM everyone. Go meet new people as well. Be friendly.

Contacting old friends has never worked for me. They never respond, and usually block me.

Go for it. Worst that could happen is she ignores you or something. Send her a congrats pm and ask how shes been. Although, with the new baby she might be too busy to meet up and stuff right away. I did that to an old friend from middle school. She was glad to hear from me, she hung out at my house a couple times and we went clubbing twice. Then I realized, 'omg, this bitch is annoying and expects me to pay for her shit whenever we go out. Girl, bye' and I never talked to her again.

It would probably be best to go out and make new friends. I don't really have friends. I find myself around friendly strangers most of the time.
