I have been diagnosed with a good chunk of mental disorders throughout my life, and trust me, there's nothing "special" about it. Basically, you never feel like you have control over your own life. You're bound and restricted by your symptoms, your medications, and your level of functioning (which, unless you get something very very mild, won't be nearly on par with someone who doesn't suffer from mental illnesses). You often struggle with insomnia which is never fun, and whenever there is something physically wrong with you, people are likely to brush it off as being "all in your head" even when deep down you know it's not.

And those are really just blanket statements. Depending on the type of disorder you have, individual symptoms will vary wildly.

Um, no you don't trust me. When you do have it (if) you'll be wishing you didn't

      This.

      To op:
you do understand what a "mental disorder" is, right? Its not something that can conveniently make you crazy when you want it, its something that will mess with you and cause you distress. Even a "mild" disorder, like Aspergers Syndrome can be hell at times. Its not fun to be the guy who "didn't get the joke", and got pissed cause they thought their friends were being serious, or to be compelled to fidget and make repetitve movements, or do do something that makes you look like a jerk when you weren't trying to. It sucks to generally feel like an outsider because you have trouble understanding and connecting with people.

Its something i wouldn't wish on anyone.

You find happiness in your own misery. What a miserable way to be happy. Hopefully you will feel miserable about your own misery someday. Then you won't want it anymore.

do you go to the freak night in Seattle? I used to go to Trinity night club, it's been a few years so I don't know if it's still there.

      • Haven't been to freak night but I was at trinity the last two halloweens before this one. 2013 I was Pimpin Mario and 2012 I was a demonic cat.

is trinity still there? I have wanted to check it out but it's been so many years I didn't know if it was still there, or maybe under another name. I used to go to medusa's too and belltown billiards.

You gotta be crazy to want to have a mental disorder.

You don't explain why you want one? For attention and sympathy? To appear "out of the ordinary"? Are you just bored? Ask yourself these questions. Whatever you find your reason to be there will be other ways of resolving your problem and getting a mental disorder will not be a solution.

It sounds like maybe you want attention and that's why you want a mental disorder... why else would you want one? Also, you probably have one, if you want a mental disorder so badly... trust me it's not fun.

You probably have Munchausen syndrome. Congrats. Now go Google in pure delight about your disorder.

I'm not totally sure about the way in which you want to have a mental disease. It may be something like what I experienced growing up, that I sometimes wanted to have problems, be an emotionally troubled teen, I guess.

Seeing mental issues in other people, especially when one is young I think, may be colouored by the esteem and admiration you have for that person, and it may be that, at some times in life, one does not see the mental disease as plainly and fully disagreeable.

I think you are full of crap and this is a troll post.
But you know what? As long as you pay your own medical bills and don't ask the rest of us to pay for them with our taxes, I also wish for you what you wish for. Be sick and crazy.

I've got Aspergers (which is a very mild mental disorder) and mild anxiety, it fucking sucks. My whole life I was forced to see social workers, which I never had anything to tell the social workers anyway, my life is pretty good. As a bonus, my anxiety usually keeps me up to 4 AM each morning, on a good night, sometimes I don't sleep at all.

It's all the more embarrassing when some teachers think 'Aspergers' translates to 'complete and utter retard'. You don't want any mental disorder, seriously.

No, not normal. But you probably do have some form of a mental disorder, most likely Munchausen Syndrome or Histrionic Personality Disorder.
