I'm really curious what jail/prison is like. I want to go to one for 6 months, purely for educational purposes. Or with that intention.

I feel like that may be more of a reality than it should be due to my behaviours and also my thriving curiosity.

I get that it's terrible and all of that crap, bit documentaries don't give you the satisfaction of knowing something first-hand. By experience. You haven't been there nor done that. So how are you to know the full truth?

Anybody else want a first-hand experience of jail/prison?

      Bum rape is very rare in UK jails. Never happens.

    You can ask to be put in (I believe) for educational purposes. See if you can set something up down at the police station.

    Prison is something different though.

    Do you want to go to jail because you are gay, but are afraid to have gay sex? You won't have much choice in there, of course, but that is the point, right?
    Then you will come out with a criminal record and not be able to get a decent job. No worries; you can be a male prostitute, sucking guys off for money, because you were trained by the best in jail, right? But hey it's not your fault; going to jail screwed you up. Wait a second here, you WANTED to go to jail, remember? Now you can die of AIDS quite happily.
    Yep, jail. Great idea!

    My dad went to prison for 5 years. When he got out not only was he a douche. (like he always was) but now hes ripped and an even greater douche. If you want a great workout routine prison is your best choice. ^_^

    Hmmmm, an educational experiment? Field research? Bring your notepad. Laptops and iPads would likely be stolen in the first hour. For all I know, they would be confiscated. You know, some people run criminal empires, as jail birds, from the inside. How do they do that? Like, this could trigger a plot for that series The Blacklist.

    @anti-hero I think if i'd have done a stint in a US prison when i was younger it would have shocked me into keeping out of trouble. Those prisons are inhumane. English jails are holiday camps. Widescreen tvs dvd players playstaion showers in room with carpets. You'd not believe half the things were allowed in there as rewards its ridiculous. Its not a deterant, No wonder people in UK aint frightend of jail when you get things like that. All prisons/jails should be the same as the US would most certainly deter people from getting into trouble in the future (well most certainly would me)

    Been there done that worn the t-shirt etc. Not proud of it but to be honest i enjoyed it,was an experience & certainly didn't deter me from committing crime, Then again UK jails are holiday camps in comparison to the rest of the world. I liked it & made some amazing friends who i'm still in contact with today. Don't knock it til you tried it
