I want my sex life back!

I used to have a very healthy sex drive, but about 8 months ago was put on prosac. I knw a side effect of an anti depressant anti anxiety med is a decrease in sex drive... Is it normal to have ZERO sex drive? And when the rare times I get in the mood I have to use lub which is something I never needed before... Any one else going through this? I want to stay on the medicine but really would like my sex drive back.

    I'm so glad you posted! Yes I'm still on it my mom was diagnosed with cancer and my job was having layoffs (which thank god i wasn't apart of) but just all the anxiety I couldn't deal with. Exactly! I went from a very high sex drive to nothing and it's the worst feeling. Im glad u found a job bc meds are just ridculous in price... I will def talk to my doc about welbutrin. Total tmi but I think the lack of natural moistness is causing bladder infections too. Kinda strange

    OMG! I know 100% how you feel!!!! Are you still on Prosac?? I was on it for about 2 years, and I went from having an extremely high sex drive to like nothing at all. I mean ZERO drive. It was so annoying. I asked my doctor about it, and she put me on Welbutran to help boost my drive. It did help, but wasn't the same as before. Later on, I ended up losing my job (along with my health benefits) and could not afford the meds, so I had to quit them. I know, it's not a good plan, but I couldn't afford $250/month for pills!!! Think about it, I wasn't working (though it didn't take me long to find a job). I learned to cope, and I haven't been on the meds since last fall. For the most part, I'm doing okay. And let me tell you, my drive is back! :) Almost the same as before... only not as bad now cause I'm a little older, and I am stressed to the max. But sometimes I will be sitting at work, and well... let's just say I wish there was some kind of relief! lol Just like the good old days, lol. And let me tell you, my hubby is much happier now too. Our sex life is great again :) Good luck. Prosac is a sex drive killer, for sure! :( But at least you know it's normal...
