I've never been able to "see where i'll be in 5 years"

In two weeks, I'm going to get on a plane, fly 800 miles away and start a new job. I've never been able to see myself in any situation but the present, but I have a very clear picture of what I'm about to do and how it will turn out for me.

I've never before been able to comprehend that I might have a future, but I can see pretty clearly downthis road. Is this normal, or am I wired wrong?

I hope my concept is clear. I've been trying to word it right for 10 minutes now... Sorry if its confusing or unclear.

    You're normal, don't worry.

Realistically, no one can clearly see what they will be doing in the next 5 years unless they already achieve the job/career they aimed for, otherwise it's all a speculation to feel secure in where you're going in life.

    Enjoy living in the moment.

I'd say you're lucky, living in the moment is awesome, but planning for the future gives people a sense of security. I've never been able to see 'where I'll be in 5 years' but I also never really know how things will turn out for me. Sounds like you've found a healthy medium... Best of luck!
