I used to think "boxers" was what people wore in the boxing ring

As a young kid. I even asked my friend to see him in his boxers when he mentioned he wore them, and wondered if he was in a boxing club. I didn't learn that boxers were underwear until a few years later.

    That's how they got their name. It's what people used to wear in the ring (although today's underwear version are a bit modified, of course).

    Haha, that's cute! I've done this with quite a few words as well:). At least there are actually boxers in the boxing ring, even though they're the two people hitting each other.
