The dating site I havebeen using requires a facebook account. I live in a small city and have a very unique name. I created a fake facebook profile with with a fake name, because I don't want people stalking me on the Internet and looking up my LinkedIn profile and knowing where I work.

Is this normal?

    Normal. I used to do this to avoid an ex "girlfriend" stalking me. The person I ultimately chose to date understood my reasons when I explained to him why I used a fake name.
