Hopefully this doesn't sound creepy...
I have a teacher, who I enjoy talking to. He is a very strict teacher, and a great one (also kind) too...

Sometimes, I see him talking to college students whom visit, and they seem to be socially adept and share laughs... I tend to attempt to open in conversation with him but he gives short responses or says "hmm"

I don't have a crush on him (and if I am biologically infatuated by him, it's likely that I wish to still be friends and not act upon the crush... It could be a crush, but I would still want to be friends with him and talk rather than get affectionate...)

I would sometimes continually attempt to engage in conversation, however when I'm talking he kinda listens, but doesn't actually respond much, he may nod or whatnot, or give short responses but he wouldn't really contribute to the conversation.

I don't want to sound like a creep (eek), but I then get kinda jealous when I see him sharing laughs with another student and talking for a bit.

He doesn't find me annoying, but I'm curious about this. I would love to become friends with him, but maybe I obsess over this too much...

    Very normal, but you have to remember that you are still his student. Being friends with a student is very dangerous to his job. However the college students that come for a visit are on to other things and he doesn't have the same liability with them. Be a good student and stay professional and I'd bet the farm that he will converse and laugh with you when your in college.

    Leave the poor man alone. Do you have any idea how many little girls like you a teacher must put up with in his career? He's there to teach you, he doesn't need your friendship, nor does he probably want it. Be a good student, that would please him much more than your childish obsession.

    Why don't you drug him, tie him up and lock him in your basement? Then you can talk to him all day! Lol

    If you cut out the jealousness part, it sounds more or less like there's an older person whom you like and look up to.

    With or without the jealousness part, it doesn't sound awful or creepy.

      Sorry. I guess sometimes its irritating that I can't start conversations with him.

      He never seems creeped out or notice. He seems to just be passive.
