I thought i was a good person but am i not?

So I've always thought of myself as a generally good person but I was recently thinking of if there was a limit to what I would do to protect my daughter and I found incredibly few things that I wouldn't do to keep her safe like killing an innocent person or something like that is this normal?

      I'm an atheist so not a huge concern about going to hell just the realization that even though I feel that I'm a very good person given the right or wrong circumstances I could be a monster that's the scary part

        It's an expression, man. It's not meant to be taken laterally. It just sounds retarded if you replace "hell" with "super bad stuff happening to you".

    Yeah, parental instincts are a carnal part of the types of responses you have when your offspring are threatened. It doesn't mean you are a terrible person or anything.

    I'm saying that too far might not exist I can't think of something that if given the choice between whatever and my child's safety or life I think I would do whatever it was to keep her safe but not sure if that makes me bad the fact that I feel my daughter's life is more important than any number of other people's
