I think that the fact that time won't turn back is life's only problem

Over the years, I seem to have developped the belief that the only reason why anything bad happens is because we can't turn back time. If we could turn back time flawlessly, we could have prevented so many deaths, wars, murders and pains in our lives. But because time won't turn back we are stuck with it. Of course we can learn from our past mistakes but I think that everything would be better if we could turn back time. Is it normal for me to think this way?

As humans, we need errors in order to progress. Granted that there are some mistakes that should never have happened in the first life. However, we need bad incidences in our lives so we could learn from them and avoid making those mistakes again. Not to mention that science is basically achieved through trial and error. I can understand where you're coming from, but if humans didn't know what misery is then we'd wouldn't value happiness as we do now.

      This.
Besides, who says that everyone would use time travel for the greater good?

  • As my life progresses my belief in the theory that that life's only problem is that time won't turn back keeps getting stronger. I was permanently locked out of my AOL account just because of one overseas login.

  • "deaths, wars, murders and pains in our lives"

Are all necessary, infact a painless life would have no meaning. Our constant technological evolutions are actually the problem.

You should watch the Butterfly Effect. That'll get you thinking even more, since you have these thoughts already.

But think about what bad things could happen if there was such a thing as time travel also.

Also what everybody else is saying. Mistakes happen. Correcting my mistakes makes me feel much better and brings more happiness. If mistakes didn't happen I wouldn't feel the same, it would be pretty boring.

It's good sometimes that bad things happen. If 9/11 never happened, Bush wouldn't have been reelected in 2004 and would have gone back to Texas to reform the confederacy and start the Second Civil War.
