I think ppl now care too much about pain & not enough in life itself
These days, I'm starting to feel that people are starting to give little to no value to life, and all the value in the world to feelings. What I mean is that whenever someone causes even the slightest bit of suffering, the person will get comments like "I hope you and your family gets killed". For example, I just saw a video of someone annoying an anaconda for 40 seconds before letting it free and a lot of the uprated comments were like "How dare you stress out the anaconda I hope you and your family dies". Yes, I agree that what they did was unkind and stupid, and that the backlash at the behaviour is justified. But seriously, how does causing 40 seconds of unhappiness warrant the killing of multiple lives? To me, that's not even "an eye for an eye" anymore, more like "An eye, a spleen, a heart, a spine, a brain, a pancreas, a spleen and a stomach for a small piece of your skin". I have been bullied and intentionally terrified by others before, and even then I don't think that my bullies deserve death. Yet there was someone who ran an exhibit in which someone killed a live goldfish as art, and he couldn't be prosecuted because apparently the fish didn't suffer in the process. Now if it involved causing them so much suffering that they were completely incapable of functioning ever again, I'd reconsider. If I were to come up with a suitable punishment for inflicting undue pain it would involve causing pain to the perpetrator with intensity depending on how much undue suffering he/she caused.
Anyways, the point is that I think these days people are becoming too adverse to pain to the point that avoiding pain means is so much more valuable than life itself.
Is it normal to think this is happening?
