I think its rude for people to know what music other people like.

I refuse anyone to know what songs I like, and I don't want to know what kind of music other people listen to. When other people are in my car, I refuse to play music, or play music with the windows down. Also if someone chooses music for other people to listen to, or plays music loud enough for other people to hear, I think this person is a selfish arrogant douche. I don't listen to weird music, but I refuse to let anyone know what I like, IIN?

  • It's ok that you feel that way. But certainly not "normal"

I'm the exact same way. When someone does get a hold of my ipod and listens to my music I feel embarrased.

I used to only like pop/slow rock as a teen and felt ashamed since there's peer pressure to only listen to violent hardrock etc and I was already bullied enough.

I'm sometimes reluctant to share the music I like because it tends to be very dark themed and depressing and I don't want people to worry about me or think I'm weird for listening to it.

I honestly don't understand. Why is it "rude" to ask about someone's interests? It's not like you're nosing in their personal life.

Jeez, that sounds almost as bad as if you were harboring a cult religious secret... are you?

  • So what kind of music do you like?

Bit weird. I'd understand if you didn't like music yourself, but that's not the case...

well you can feel what you like about it, but showing other people the music you like is kinda necessary to grow artists' popularity and benefit adjoining industries, and doesn't make them selfish arrogant douches.
maybe you feel it's too personal a thing to share publicly?
